Creamy Corn Casserole

I was looking for a quick corn casserole recipe for a dinner party and came across a good one by Paula Deen. I have always liked watching her show on the Food Network. I have decided to give her recipe a try, especially as it seemed pretty simple (mix, dump, and bake).

Paula Deen’s recipe was a bit sweet for our family’s taste so I changed things around a bit.

The recipe here is based on Paula Deen’s with a few added ingredients. I added jalapeno, green onions, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and extra cheese. I tried this recipe out with different types of cheese and the winner was cheddar jack. The recipe below reflects that.

Adding those few extra ingredients made the dish less sweet and added more flavor. This a perfect side dish for the holidays and during the week as well.

I hope you give this version a try and let me know your thoughts.
