About

Hello! My name is Christina

My culinary journey started back in the days when I worked for McDonald’s. Not too glamorous, right? I was young, and I just came to the United States from Bangladesh. I worked there for two years while attending college. It paid the bills!

Later on in my life, I worked at a local restaurant called “Magenta,” where I learned Vietnamese and American style cooking—typically a fusion of these cuisines. My supervisor taught me a lot of new tricks. She took me under her wings and taught me to build flavor just from smelling different spices.

After a few years, I got a new job at Oregon State University and worked for a variety of restaurants across campus. From these experiences, I learned American, Indian, Italian, Thai, Korean, Chinese, and many other types of cuisine. I have worked with a lot of different Chefs at the University. From each one of them, I’ve learned different flavor building profiles.

I eventually found my style of cooking and became well respected by everyone there and always got compliments from customers, coworkers, and supervisors. I have won numerous recipe contest and won my first culinary challenge for NACUFS (National Association of College and University Food Services) last year.

Food is my passion! My goal is to share my favorite delicious recipes with step-by-step photos with you.
