After everyone leaves the house in the morning I like to enjoy a cup of coffee with something somewhat sweet. One of my favorite treats is banana bread, which carries me through the rest of the day.
Double Peanut Banana Bread
Every time I go grocery shopping, bananas end up in my cart. I always think I can put them in lunch bags and they will be eaten. However, they often make it back home after school or work without being touched!
This bread is one of the easiest and tastiest treats I’ve ever made or eaten. I’ve been making this bread for the past 20 years and don’t recall where I learned it.
Banana Nut Muffins
We tend to have a lot of bananas on our hands. If we don’t eat them fast enough, I end up with lots of ripe bananas. This is not necessarily a problem, as I can put them into smoothies or bake some sort of bread or muffins.
Since school started our family has less time in the morning, so we’ve stopped eating hearty breakfasts like hot oatmeal that take a lot of time. We’ve been having breakfast muffins instead. These are quick to eat and a great way to use up extra cereal mix that we weren’t using.
Banana Bread with Chocolate Chips
I have been buying too many bananas for the past few weeks. Maybe it’s because school finally started for us and I thought I’ll need a lot of things to put in school lunch bags. The great thing about bananas is that even if you overbuy, there’s lots of cool recipes that can make use…
Zucchini Poppy Seed Bread
It’s been really hot where we live, but my garden has been thriving. I’ve been getting a lot of zucchini in particular. Some of them grew too big in fact, and therefore are not very tender. Yet big zucchinis are still great to use for savory or sweet breads. Check out other zucchini-based recipes on…
Banana Bread with Cream Cheese Frosting
We like bananas at our house but the thing is they get soft and mushy too fast, and I’m often left with a lot of over-ripe bananas. I could freeze them but usually I don’t have enough freezer space. I recently had too many ripe bananas and also too much cream cheese in my refrigerator.…
My Favorite Cornbread
I did not grow up with cornbread and did not inherit a legacy of making it. My family, however, really loves cornbread, especially when it is a bit sweet and rich. I have been making cornbread off and on for over 20 years, and have settled on the following recipe as my favorite way to…
Simple Brioche Hamburger Buns
Once in awhile my husband and I get a craving for a big, juicy, delicious burger. He is of the sort that would be happy to go out and by one from a restaurant. I, on the other hand, love to make great burgers from scratch. It’s not something I do all the time so…
