If you follow my blog you might have noticed that I like to use ham a lot. I like ham for its taste and because I often find a good deal on it at the grocery store. I typically first make a ham dinner with part of it, and then have lots of leftover ham from which I make a variety of dishes. One of the easiest and most popular is ham salad. I serve this as an appetizer or as a filling for a sandwich.

Stir Fry Beef and Broccoli
This week I have been spending a lot of time cleaning up my summer garden and taking care of new fall plantings such as kale, chard, and spring mix. I’ve also been trying to exercise more and cook less. Therefore this blog is about how to spend less time in the kitchen. The recipe we make today is a relatively fast one called beef and broccoli.

If you go to the food court of any big shopping mall you will almost always find a Chinese restaurant of some sort. A long time ago when I worked in a mall, I would often eat lunch at that mall’s Chinese restaurant with my co-worker. My favorite thing to order was Chinese Pepper Steak. Unlike many restaurants this place cooked it fresh right in front of you as you stood in line. It was always worth the wait for this fantastic dish. Today I will try to replicate that.
